Sleeper VW Golf and 2011 BMW 335i

Few buddies at work with German cars wanted to race my stock GTO so I obliged them after. The first was a rusted 94' Golf gutted with a FMIC'd turbocharged VR6 swap bored out to a 3.0, fully built tranny, engine, full after market exhaust and suspension and to top it off his transport tires. (has radials but was leaving that morning for the dyno shop) I knew I wasn't winning but it was fun. He had me by bus lengths in seconds every time. The next was a stock 11' 335i. I believe they have a V6 with a dual stage turbo? (not even sure what that is tbh) Dead even at the pull, gained a fender on him at the top of the power band in 3rd, and finally, my nose was at his tail a little under 6k rpm in 4th. I started to VERY slowly pull again but we let off. Both fun runs, both cool rides.

Talked to them afterwards discussing what they're putting down. The one had the most recent of the Golf's dynos which read 480ish fwhp. (don't remember torque or psi) But his weight slip had the car at only 2.5k lbs. The 4dr 335i is similar in weight with it being slightly less than the GTO, but I was really impressed that stockers have so much get up and go for being rated at only 300bhp.
